As the summery temperatures continue in Chicago (I’m not complaining), it’s hard to believe that October is here. Yet the leaves are starting to fall and pumpkins are grinning from every front porch.
October also marks the end of Hispanic Heritage Month. In recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month, the October calendar features the work of one of Chicago’s most prominent artists. Héctor Duarte has created more than 50 public art works around the Chicago region. Like much of his work, “Gulliver in Wonderland” explores themes of identity, migration, and the experiences of immigrants from Mexico in Chicago.
