I’ve been fortunate to spend the bulk of my summer in Chicago, and yet there are still more beaches to visit, parks to hike, and frozen treats to eat!
If you’re looking for a serene stroll, check out the Riverbank Neighbor’s Park featured in this month’s calendar. I recently spent a lovely morning there sipping a coffee by the river and watching the kayaks and ducks paddle by.
When neighbors in this North Side community grew tired of the trash and erosion along the Chicago River, they banded together to clean it up and create a park! They still maintain it today, growing native plants in a lush oasis that all can enjoy.
