The wee hours of the morning seem like the perfect time to talk about Chicago’s secret and unusual places. I recently had the opportunity to share some little known Chicago oddities from my book, Secret Chicago, with WGN radio host Matt Bubala.
Matt’s show airs live from 2-5 a.m. on Saturday mornings, and I wondered how I was going to stay awake until the 2 a.m. interview time. After a few cups of coffee, I hopped in a cap and enjoyed riding through the quiet of the late night Loop.
I arrived at the studio, and Matt and his producer Jess couldn’t have been nicer. They even had pizza waiting for me! I had so much fun hearing which places in the book stood out to Matt and sharing some Chicago secrets that were new to him.
